ReCommit 2010

Catholic, Jesus, justice, peace, love…
Service, responsibility, creativity…
Assembling, welcoming, challenging, reconciling,
collaborating, honoring…
Companions.
If those fifteen words interest or inspire you, there are 267 more where they came from. You will find them in the Mission Statement of the Church of Christ the King. I am privileged and deeply grateful to serve, lead, and live among a community with so noble a purpose.
Those words are made flesh at Christ the King in a variety of ways.

- In the celebration of your marriage or the baptism of your precious firstborn…
- In efforts for peace, justice, and communion with those who live on Minneapolis’ north side…
- At the Steak Fry, the Annual Dinner/Auction, coffee and donuts after Mass…
- In Advent and Lent retreats, children’s catechesis, and Venture Youth Ministry…
- By sharing your grief at the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, or the loss of your job or your health…
- At Carondelet Catholic School…
- Most and best of all, in weekly Eucharist, where we celebrate our common life with Jesus Christ and rehearse the Kingdom.
I know that the mission of Christ the King is important to you. Were it not, you wouldn’t be reading this letter. If you are grateful for the any ministries that we exercise in the name of Christ and his Church, I ask that you do your part, and make a deliberate and appropriate financial commitment to our mission. Please be generous, giving your best to Christ the King. In this way, we can continue to make the life and love of Jesus Christ all the more real for those whom we serve.
Thank you very, very much.
